GF-students

Historically, MCH has been a training site for young men and women who are seeking to serve God through missions.  A significant population of high school and college students spend anywhere from a day to a summer to a semester working, living and learning with the inner city communities of Mission Centers of Houston.  These students often leave MCH to either go on to another city, another country, or even return to serve at MCH.  Today, 8 of the 13 staff members of MCH previously served as student missionaries here! The return investment is remarkable!

Over the years, we have seen hundreds of students come and go through this ministry.  If they could all share their stories with you they would tell you things like, “I met God here”, “I saw God use me in ways I had never imagined,” “I learned to love people”, “I gained a greater world view”, “I was stretched out of my comfort zone”, and the list could go on and on.  Many of these students leave after a summer or semester, return to school and go into a host of varying careers.  Our missionaries are now school teachers, pediatricians, lawyers, teachers and career missionaries.  Some of our students left MCH to travel to other countries like El Salvador, Peru, Ecuador, Canada, Egypt, Tanzania, China, Mongolia, Brazil and many other places.

Here is the bottom line.  We are training students to serve God in ways that are even unknown to us.  They leave MCH with a foundation to continue growing and serving God.  An investment in MCH is an investment in something greater than the inner city of Houston, Texas.  It is an investment in the lives of students who will travel this world teaching and loving people of the unconditional love of God.  Our reach goes beyond Near Northside, Magnolia Park or the 5th Ward of Houston.  Our reach extends to the uttermost parts of the world, making a Global Footprint.
